The Tin Woods one of the Official Selections from the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology’s 2024 festival that accepted the Filmmaker Mixer Podcast offer to review their work. It is a stop motion short film inspired by the children’s novel, The Tin Woodman of Oz. The way the story in The Tin Woods is told is very unique. We enter it with little knowledge of what’s happening, much like the protagonist, the tin man. The film takes a really interesting approach to the character through an entirely visual language. I absolutely adore the animation and the designs of the characters. It’s all very expressive and immersive. This short film is worth seeing for yourself.
