Taco Baby is an Official Section of the 2024 Austin Film Festival. This live action short film was directed by Jacob Daniels and co-written by Jacob & Liz Daniels.
Taco Baby is a charming, humorous piece about a man whose wife is pregnant and develops a craving for tacos. He begins to suspect that something may be amiss with the pregnancy. I found the short to be very memorable and amusing. I especially liked how distinctive all of the costumes are for the characters, and I enjoyed the director’s style; it brought a lot of energy to the film. The actors all were incredibly fun to watch as well. It all comes together to make a very endearing experience.
Taco Baby screened on October 26, 2024 and will screen again on October 30, 2024 at the Rollins Theatre at the Long Center at the 4:00 PM shorts program block. Taco Baby is the kind of movie that makes you crave fast food- we love it! We encourage you not to miss the Shorts Program 9: Best Lil’ Shorts in Texas 1, as it is screens the following shorts for a total run time of 107 minutes: Taco Baby, (reviewed above), Four Influencers & a Funeral, Patsy, There’s A Klansman in the Trunk!, Swimming with Butterflies, and I Am Ready, Warden.
