I Could Dom was an Official Selection of the 2024 Austin Film Festival that was written and directed by Madison Hatfield. It is about a young woman who has very sexually experienced friends who are discussing “domming” and “subbing” and she randomly blurts out “I could dom!”
I Could Dom is a really funny and charming short film. The dialogue is fun and the characters were memorable, despite me only having seen them for about fifteen minutes. I liked how honest it was, and how it presented the subject matter in a way that wasn’t super edgy or anything. It’s a very, very cute and funny short, and had a lot of really effective emotional moments. It’s very well written, and the characters are all very believable. I liked this short and had a good time with it. It’s one of those shorts that simultaneously feels longer and shorter than it actually is. It just draws you in, and you don’t want it to end, but when it does, it’s satisfying because it’s like, yay, I’m happy these characters end up where they are, good for them!
