Grizzly Business was one of the Official Selections from the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology’s 2024 festival that accepted the Filmmaker Mixer Podcast offer to review their work. This animated short film collides the worlds of a grizzly bear who escapes from the zoo and a man on an anniversary. The action scenes are really well executed; they’re eventful and appealing to look at, with a lot of great shot choices, and the animation itself is really smooth. I love the soft and pastel color palette, and the simple, geometric designs of the characters and environments. Impressively, it was actually only animated by one person. It looks really cute and charming but has a surprisingly dark sense of humor. While watching, I felt the love that went into it very strongly.
