Every Other Weekend was one of the Official Selections from the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology’s 2024 festival that accepted the Filmmaker Mixer Podcast offer to review their work. It’s about two children who go camping with their father. It plays out like a series of loosely connected memories of the trip, small, cherished moments that are immortalized by this animated film. The animation is gorgeous, with this incredibly charming style, with a lot of atmosphere provided by the beautiful backgrounds and soundtrack. It made me feel nostalgic, even though the memories shown weren’t my own.
