Eating 38 Cheeseburgers was one of the Official Selections from the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology’s 2024 festival that accepted the Filmmaker Mixer Podcast’s offer to review their work. It is a live action short film about the content on the internet. It is a postmodern, chaotic dystopian nightmare of a short film that constantly disrupts your idea of what is real within its world and what’s not, best watched in Fullscreen mode (you will thank me for this suggestion if you decide to go on and watch it.) It’s also quite hilarious. The hypothetical reality it shows us is terrifying, but the film hands it to us with a tongue in cheek satirical style of humor, a spoonful of sugar to let the medicine go down.
