Bloom In was one of the Official Selections from the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation and Technology’s 2024 festival that accepted the Filmmaker Mixer Podcast’s offer to review their work. It is a 3D animated short film about an insecure cactus who learns about the beauty within herself. The script is charming and has a poetic feel to it reminiscent of a children’s book, and the character designs are adorable. This short film made me feel happy and warm, the music and voice acting definitely lending themselves to this feeling. I really loved the end credits, which have this really, really cute hand drawn style and a lovely song playing over them.
