THE WORM’S EYE VIEW OF THE BIRD

The Worm’s Eye View of the Bird takes the question “would you still love me if I was a worm?” very literally, as it is, in fact, about a woman, who falls in love with a worm. I was very taken aback by its masterful balance of absurdist humor, symbolism and genuinely emotional moments. To me, it’s a short film that can be read both as a silly story about a woman literally dating a sentient worm and as a metaphor for a romantic relationship’s life and death. The voice acting, soundtrack and 2D animation on this short are all absolutely wonderful, bringing the short so much charm, sincerity, emotion and warmth.
