The Untranslatable Forest was one of the Official Selections from the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology’s 2024 festival that accepted the Filmmaker Mixer Podcast offer to review their work. It is a visually stunning short film that brings to attention something I have never thought about: the beauty of language diversity. I adore the way The Untranslatable Forest is framed, and how every idea it introduces gets expanded upon. The visuals, sound design, and music all go together to create a very unique experience.The ending wraps everything all up very nicely, and leaves you with a very important message that recontextualizes what you just experienced.
