Dragonfly was one of the Official Selections from the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology’s 2024 festival that accepted the Filmmaker Mixer Podcast offer to review their work. This very emotional and heartfelt animated short opens with a young girl chasing a dragonfly, takes a sad turn and covers a historical incident that I am glad to have gotten to learn about. Dragonfly does a great job covering this topic by making us see it through the eyes of someone who was a part of it, and making us feel for them. It has a very pleasant animation style that, while digital, has this nice overlayed effect on it that makes it look like it was painted with watercolor.
