Darwin the Dreamer was one of the Official Selections from the Portland Festival of Cinema, Animation & Technology’s 2024 festival that accepted the Filmmaker Mixer Podcast offer to review their work. It is a short, 3D animated adaptation of a children’s book of the same name. The story follows a little boy, Darwin, who is blind but uses his imagination to see, and unfortunately has to put up with a bully. The narration is wonderful, and the visual style is very appealing to look at. I greatly enjoyed the story and found it very sweet and charming, and left me with an empowering message.
