GOLDILOCKS AND THE TWO BEARS is a feature length film about two homeless people, the “bears,” who find a place to stay. However, it turns out that this place has an owner, a blonde woman, our “Goldilocks,” who discovers them in her home. We soon learn the backstory behind the decision she makes about whether or not they can stay with her.

The majority of GOLDILOCKS AND THE TWO BEARS consists of dialogue between characters, as they open up to each other about themselves and their lives. I found that the subject matter that is often found in these conversations was very bold. The characters talk about topics such as death, sexuality, and substance abuse in a very casual and candid manner.

Writer/director Jeff Lipsky created very interesting characters. The story takes a really unexpected turn at a certain point. With this change in direction, much of the information we learned earlier in the story is paid off. Even after this turn, the story remains to be very honest and sincere, and at times a bit somber.

GOLDILOCKS AND THE TWO BEARS is an independent film that contains interesting characters whose stories are worth telling. There is an honesty to this film and clear passion that went into creating it that you can feel as you watch it.
