Dedicated to a white and fluffy dog named Buffy (1992-2010), Retrieving Roadie is a delightful animation about a man named Carl, who is a dog lover that sells dog treats. After a rough day, he takes his dog treats to an animal shelter where he soon adopts a white, and fluffy dog that was one day away from being euthanized.
A love letter to supporting animal shelters, Retrieving Roadie has charming character designs and is a delightful adventure to witness. The top quality animation is uplifted by the score and sound design. Overall, this short is an excellent example of quality storytelling. While it says the story is for entertainment purposes only, I can’t help but think some of the things that happen may have been inspired by actual events.
Retrieving Roadie has the airport run scene every animal lover can cheer. I enjoyed this short and look forward to more work from the filmmakers behind this short.
